The Authority's functions, as provided under the Civil Aviation Authority Act 1979, (as amended) include:
1. Any function conferred on it by or under the Civil Aviation Act, Civil Aviation Authority of Fiji Act or the Civil Aviation Reform Act 1999;
2. Carrying out such obligations of the State arising from the State’s membership of the International Civil Aviation Organisation as the Minister directs;
3. Safety-related functions as stipulated in the CAAF Act, and
4. Regulating the safety of civil aviation operations in Fiji.
