The RPAS Officer supports the Flight Operations Inspector – Domestic, Float Plane & General Aviation (FOI-D/FP/GA) and Senior Flight Operations Inspector Domestic (SFOI-D) in overseeing drone (RPAS) operations in Fiji. The role helps with tasks such as processing applications, inspections, flight test observation, investigations, record keeping, and working with applicants under supervision. It is a developmental role designed to prepare the officer to become an RPAS Inspector through training and hands-on experience. The officer does not have independent authority yet but builds skills for future certification. The work follows key ICAO regulations and standards related to RPAS operations, safety oversight, licensing, air rules, investigations, and safety management. The position reports to the Senior Flight Operations Inspector – Domestic.
