Flight Operations Inspector - International

Reporting to the Senior Flight Operations Inspector – International, the FOI-I implements and maintains standards for international flight operations and safety management within the Flight Operations Section of the Air Safety Department. The role provides regulatory oversight of assigned Fiji and foreign air operators through certification, audits, inspections, flight tests and risk-based surveillance and serves as an authorized person under the Air Navigation Regulations.

Licence and Flying Experience

Do you hold or have held an Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) with one or more Airbus or Boeing type ratings on a multi-crew transport category, aeroplane certificated to a maximum take-off mass of 20,000 kg or above (for example the Airbus A330, the Boeing B737, or larger types)? Preferably aircraft types registered in Fiji.(Required)

Flight Operations Experience (minimum two years in two or more of the following)

Do you have flight operations management or supervisory experience with a substantial airline operating transport category aircraft?(Required)
Do you have experience as a Flight Operations Inspector with a government civil aviation authority, covering flight operations inspection and the safe transport of goods by air?(Required)
Do you have experience as a pilot instructor or evaluator (aircraft or simulator)?(Required)
Do you have experience as a flight operational quality or safety auditor?(Required)

Regulatory Knowledge, Certification and Training

Do you have working knowledge of ICAO Annex 6 (Operation of Aircraft) requirements?(Required)
Have you completed aviation safety management systems (SMS) training from a recognised provider, consistent with ICAO Annex 19 and Doc 9859?(Required)

Desirable Requirements

Do you have a university degree in a civil aviation discipline or other relevant academic qualification.(Required)

Do you have knowledge of ICAO Annex 18 and the safe transport of dangerous goods by air?(Required)
